Joaquin Cardoner is an independent producer with a growing reputation for crafting critically acclaimed films. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in Brazil, he developed his filmmaking career in Canada. His work has earned prestigious accolades, including the Grand Jury Prize for Best Live Action Short at SXSW 2025 and two selections for Canada’s Top Ten at TIFF. His short films have also been showcased at Berlinale, Locarno, MOMA’s New Directors/New Films, AFI Fest, Slamdance, Camerimage, and more.

Joaquin's first feature film "100 Sunset" written and directed by artist-filmmaker Kunsang Kyirong, is having it's World Premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival. It is the first-ever Tibetan-Canadian production to receive Telefilm’s Talent to Watch financing. Joaquin is in production of a documentary-fiction hybrid directorial debut by cinematographer Evan Prosofsky (recipient of Telefilm’s Low Budget Regional financing), and has a couple of feature film projects in development, including a late-summer romantic comedy set on the French Riviera with writer/director Sam Kuhn.

In addition to his film work, Joaquin produces commercials and music videos. He has collaborated worldwide with production companies such as Solab, Eddy, Blur, Asymetric, Iconoclast/Prodigo, OPC, HierSoir, Fela, and agencies including Wieden+Kennedy, DDB, Anomaly, Sid Lee, Young Astronauts, Kin, W&CO, Taxi. His diverse client list includes Heinz, Nissan, Zara, AderError, Tropicana, Budweiser, Uber, Google, Frank Gehry, ACNE Studios, and Netflix.
