Born in 1993 Buenos Aires, Argentina, and raised in an anglo-spanish family in São Paulo, Brazil, Joaquin Cardoner established himself as a prominent independent film producer in the Canadian independent film industry. Working with internationally renowned directors namely Emily Kai Bock, David Findlay, Yassmina Karajah, Alexander Farah, his films have been shown at international festivals such as TIFF, Berlinale, Locarno, Slamdance, Camerimage, New Directors/New Films, Prism Prize, Ciclope, UKMVA among others. His latest short film Lay Me by the Shore (dir. David Findlay) was selected as Canada’s Top Ten list at the Toronto International Film Festival 2022.
Joaquin is currently completing post-production on his first Feature Film; 100 Sunset, directed by Kunsang Kyirong, the project is the first ever Tibetan-Canadian production to receive Telefilm financing under the Talent to Watch program. Joaquin is also developing his next two feature-length films; a documentary directorial debut by cinematographer Evan Prosofsky, and a late-summer romantic comedy taking place in the French riviera with writer/director Sam Kuhn.
Joaquin also produces commercials and music videos. He has worked worldwide with production companies: Solab, Eddy, Blur, Asymetric, Iconoclast/Prodigo, OPC, HierSoir, Fela; and agencies: Wieden+Kennedy, DDB, Anomaly, Sid Lee, Young Astronauts, Kin, W&CO, Taxi; for clients: Heinz, Nissan, Zara, AderError, Tropicana, Budweiser, Uber, Google, Frank Ghery, ACNE Studios, Netflix.
